Cancellation Insurance for Entry Fees |
Datasport has further expanded its popular online registration for sporting events. Athletes get a chance during registration to take out cancellation insurance for their entry fees. If the athlete is unable to participate in the event due to an illness or an accident, he receives a refund of the entire amount paid. Other reasons for an inability to attend are also covered as is usually the case with travel insurance.
Thanks to the cooperation between Datasport, Europäische Reiseversicherung ERV and Qualirisk, the premium is only 5% of the entry fee. Processing is quite simple, the policy is taken out during online registration. In case of claim, the athlete contacts ERV directly which in turn handles verification and processing.
The advantages for organisers are clear: the costs involved with responding to refund enquiries are eliminated and the organisers always retain the entry fee paid, even in case of a refund by ERV.
