MILD AUTUMN WEATHER BRINGS RECORD ON AND OFF THE TRACK
The mild autumn weather on the 13th SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne ensured a successful running party. 10,315 running enthusiasts crossed the finish line, cheered on by at least 60,000 people along the entire route - more than ever before. Franziska Inauen from Lucerne won the women's marathon for the third time in a row. The German runner Karl-Uwe Müller won the men's race.

Half marathon and DuoMarathon sold out!
The half marathon and DuoMarathon category for the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne are sold out.
Registrations for the Marathon and 10KM are still possible on Friday and Saturday at the Expo/Start number distribution in the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern, as long as starting places are available.
Registrations for the Maratholino can also be made on Friday and Saturday at the Expo/racenumber distribution in the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne or on Sunday directly on site (Horw and Seebrücke Luzern) up to 1 hour before the start.

Start card and race number distribution
You will receive your race number at the race number distribution upon presentation of the registration/payment confirmation or the start card, which you will receive by e-mail in mid-October. Please allow enough time for picking up your race number. A pick up on Friday or Saturday is strongly recommended.
Important: The registration confirmation or start card can be conveniently presented on the smartphone or tablet. A printout of the start card is not necessary. Together, we can avoid over 20,000 printouts and make a further, ecologically valuable contribution.
The start numbers are not sent by post.

Change of route for 2019 edition!
The course of the marathon and half marathon will be changed by more than 1km for the 2019 edition.
In the Tribschen section the route will no longer be via Tribschenstrasse, but via Landenbergstrasse. The route will therefore also pass the headquarters of our official partner "Emmi". Participants can look forward to special entertainment from Emmi in this section.

Austria as guest country at the SwissCityMarathon 2019
The SwissCityMarathon in Lucerne has chosen Austria as host country for its 13th edition on 27 October 2019. The Austrian runners will be especially welcomed on the occasion of the Marathon Expo in the Hotel Schweizerhof.
Runners from Austria, like all participants of the SwissCityMarathon, benefit from the free return journey by train from the Swiss border. The so-called SwissRunners ticket is included in the entry fee.

The SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne is the Marathon in Switzerland and takes place always on the last Sunday in October. The route leads from the Museum of Transport along Lake Lucerne, around the Horw peninsula, through the football stadium of FC Lucerne, back in the city of Lucerne, through the KKL Lucerne and the old town back to the finish in the Museum of Transport.
The next SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne will take place on October 27, 2019.

10KM for UNICEF
UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund and the organizers of the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne enter into a cooperation. From now on, various donation possibilities for UNICEF are available not only for runners, but also for spectators and third parties.

Free travel within Switzerland
After your registration you will get a mail with two promocodes for your tickets. One ticket is for your journey from every trainstation in switzerland to lucerne and one will be for your journey home to every trainstation in switzerland. The ticket for your journey home is only valid together with the race number. The ticket is for a second class ticket and is valid from october 23 to october 27 for the trip to lucerne and valid from october 27 to october 31 for your journey home.
